NORTH AMERICAN VOLT HOCKEY MAJOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS HONORED BY LT. GOV. DRISCOLL, REP. SCANLON, SEN. FEENEY AT STATE HOUSE

(BOSTON—8/21/2025) Today, Representative Adam Scanlon, Senator Paul Feeney and Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll welcomed the North Attleborough “Rolling Warriors” Volt Hockey Team to the Massachusetts State House to honor their tremendous achievement of winning gold at the North American Volt Hockey Championship held May 24th and 25th in Toronto, Canada. This gold medal represents the first ever for a United States team and secures the team a spot at the Volt Hockey World Cup in Sweden this September.

(BOSTON—7/25/2025) On Thursday, Senator Feeney voted to pass two separate bills to bring Massachusetts laws into the 21st century by removing offensive language from state statute and repealing outdated, unconstitutional laws that hamper civil rights.

SENATE ACTS TO PROTECT CONSUMERS FROM PREDATORY DEBT COLLECTION

(BOSTON—7/17/2025) Today, the Massachusetts Senate unanimously passed the Debt Collection Fairness Act to protect consumers and keep people from being pushed into financial ruin if they are sued for financial debt. The new law would make debt collection practices fairer, protect wages, and make clear that no person can be imprisoned for unpaid consumer debt.

GOVERNOR SIGNS FY26 BUDGET WITH INVESTMENTS FOR LOCAL BRISTOL AND NORFOLK DISTRICT PROJECTS

(Boston– 7/8/2025) On Friday, Governor Healey signed a $60.9 billion state budget for Fiscal Year 2026, a fiscally responsible plan that protects core services for the state’s most vulnerable residents, maintains critical investments, and positions the Commonwealth to confront the underlying budget challenges that are a result of federal funding uncertainty. Additionally, the budget includes significant investments for local projects in the Bristol and Norfolk Senate District.

(BOSTON—7/8/2025) Today, Senator Feeney testified before the Joint Committee on Children, Families, and Persons with Disabilities in strong support of legislation he has filed, along with Representative Michael Chaisson, to strengthen mandated reporter provisions across the Commonwealth. The Senator was proud to testify alongside members of the Foxborough Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Committee, including Foxborough Superintendent Dr. Amy Berdos, Pastor William Dudley, Kay Andberg and former Foxborough Select Board member Jim DeVellis.
