About Paul
Paul Feeney is a Democratic State Senator serving his fifth term in the Massachusetts Senate representing the Bristol & Norfolk district. Paul was sworn in to the Senate in 2017 after winning a special election at the age of 39. Previously, Paul served as a member and Chairperson of the Select Board in his community of Foxborough.
Senator Feeney is the Assistant-Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means and Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Financial Services. He is a member of the Joint Committees on Health Care Financing, Housing, Labor and Workforce Development, Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, and the Senate Committee on Personnel and Administration. Senator Feeney serves as the Senate Chair of the Legislature's Manufacturing Caucus, Homelessness Caucus, Libraries Caucus and Marine Trades Caucus, and is the Senate President's appointee to the Massachusetts Rare Disease Advisory Council and the Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative.
Senator Feeney is a leading advocate in the Senate on worker's rights and safety, with a particular focus on increasing jobs by growing our economy, promoting financial literacy, expanding homeownership and rebuilding a vibrant middle-class. Feeney has been recognized for his work on homelessness and as a champion of permanent supportive housing and the housing first model as the solution to ending chronic homelessness.
A blue-collar telecommunications technician by trade for over 20 years prior to his service in the Senate, Senator Feeney served as the legislative director of his local union in Boston, MA. Senator Feeney is also a former Massachusetts licensed pyrotechnician and spent over two decades leading a talented crew in producing professional, artistic fireworks displays in cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth. Paul resides in Foxborough with his wife Laura, a licensed family childcare provider and small business owner. He is an avid Boston sports fan, sports card and memorabilia collector, and unrelenting promoter of the idea that Tom Brady is in fact, The Greatest of All Time.
