MASSACHUSETTS LEGISLATURE PASSES $388.6 MILLION SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
(Boston–03/24/2023) The Massachusetts Legislature on Thursday passed a $388.6 million supplemental budget for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23). The legislation funds vital services that support vulnerable populations and address food insecurity, housing instability, the state’s long-term COVID-19 response, economic development, essential support services for incoming immigrants and refugees, and more.
SENATE PASSES LEGISLATION CREATING SECRETARY OF HOUSING AND LIVABLE COMMUNITIES
(Boston–03/24/2023) The Massachusetts State Senate on Thursday passed a reorganization plan to create a state Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities, a cabinet-level position which will assist the Commonwealth with meeting its long-term goals in addressing the housing crisis and expanding safe, accessible, and affordable housing for residents.
STATE SENATOR PAUL R. FEENEY RE-APPOINTED CHAIR OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON FINANCIAL SERVICES, AND MEMBER OF SEVERAL PROMINENT COMMITTEES
(Boston – (2/16/2023) Senator Paul R. Feeney has been appointed Chair of the Joint Committee on Financial Services for the 193rd Legislative Session by Senate President Karen E. Spilka. Feeney’s appointment, in addition to others, were ratified by Senate Democrats in a Caucus held on Wednesday.
FOXBOROUGH HIGH SCHOOL CO-ED CHEERLEADING TEAM RECOGNIZED AT THE MASSACHUSETTS STATE HOUSE
(Boston–2/3/2023) On Thursday, State Senator Paul R. Feeney, on behalf of the Foxborough Legislative delegation and State Representative Jay Barrows, welcomed the Foxborough High School Co-Ed Cheerleading Team to the Massachusetts State House to recognize their tremendous accomplishment of winning back-to-back fall and winter state championships in the small co-ed division. These titles are the first and second cheerleading titles in Foxborough High School Cheerleading program history.
